North Expeditions Ethiopia was founded in 2010 and is owned and staffed by people who grew up in the Simien Mountains. We are a tour operator based in Gondar, Ethiopia. We provide standard tours in Northern Ethiopia, different options for treks in the Simien Mountains and we can accommodate customized trips upon request. Our main focus is to provide the best possible service for our guests so that the trip would be a unique and delightful experience and its memory will stay with them forever. For that we always demand the highest standards from our guides, chefs, drivers and park scouts.
Nega Setargachew, the Coordinator and Chef, was born and raised in a farming family in Ambarass village inside the Simien Mountains National Park. He attended a catering school in Gondar and he then worked for 6 years with several tour companies as a professional chef. He went on to set up his own business, using his knowledge and expertise to provide high quality tourism services. He works with certified local guides, has good camping gear and always has his clients’ needs and enjoyment in mind. He has a great reputation and is well respected by the local community.
